Meet Aly

I’ll never forget the year 2020 (who could?). I had been a Registered Nurse at a pediatric teaching hospital in Nashville, TN for over a year and also spent the last few years of my free time learning about holistic ways to optimize my health and nutrition. I had always been a foodie and loved being in my kitchen. I started cooking and baking with more whole foods and less ultra-processed ingredients. I was reading and listening to podcasts any chance that I could to learn more and realized I had a true interest in this field. I had also started a food Instagram account (@thisnursecancook, now @thiswellnessnurse) because it was the beginning of the pandemic and what else was there to do besides post pictures of your homemade banana bread? The account started out as a fun hobby, but it was through this new “identity” that I realized how truly passionate I had always been about “wellness” and using food as nourishment and medicine. About a year later, I decided to take my passion and education a step further and enroll in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) to become a certified holistic health coach.

I’ve always loved feeling like I can help others. With my IIN certification and nursing background, I am able to combine my worlds, my interests and my skills to care for others in a holistic way. I have learned how important it is to look at the WHOLE person when trying to heal. I will never say there is not a place for Western Medicine. As a Registered Nurse and a patient with an extensive medical history, I know the importance of medication, surgical interventions and lifesaving treatments. However, my belief is that we need to prioritize healing from within and nourishing our bodies rather than using a bandaid approach for everything.

Currently, I’m in my late 20s living in a small town north of Boston, MA with my husband and our pup (AKA our world). I am a Registered Nurse and health coach. I am passionate about holistic wellness and nourishing my body, but also love a glass of good wine, going out for a cocktail with the girls, a warm chocolate chip cookie and a bowl of pasta. It took me a long time to realize I can have all of these things and still be “well”. I also love riding my bike, walking the dog, reading, trying new restaurants, being on the beach, binging a show with my husband, spending time with family + friends, and traveling as much as possible.

Let me help you live your best life: nourishing yourself, moving your body, optimizing your sleep, finding joy and saying “yes” when it’s time to enjoy the slice of cake too.
